  • You want great hydrophobics. P&S says Stout has “outstanding hydrophobic properties,” so water and grime shed easily and washing takes less effort.
  • You want serious gloss. P&S describes “a luxurious, glossy finish with remarkable depth.”
  • You want strong, durable protection. Stout is our 4-year coating, with proper washing and maintenance.
  • You're leasing, or you plan to keep the car for a few years.

Both are professional ceramic coatings, and we handle all the prep and installation for both. Stout is solid, professional protection. Phantom is our top of the line for gloss, depth and hydrophobics, and it's rated longer. Here's how to choose:

How long it's rated
Stout is our 4-year tier. Phantom is our 9+ year tier, our longest-rated option.
How long you'll keep the car
Leasing, or trading in or selling within a few years? Stout, our 4-year tier, is a great fit. Keeping it for the long haul? Phantom.
What you want most
Solid, professional protection? Stout. The best gloss, depth and water behavior we offer? Phantom.

Solid professional protection, rated 4 years

P&S Inspiration STOUT

A professional ceramic coating from P&S. We handle all the prep and the installation. Real, lasting protection that makes your car much easier to keep clean and keeps that deep, rich gloss.

What it does

  • Helps protect against UV and oxidation. An added layer over your clear coat that helps slow the faded, flat look.
  • A sacrificial layer against fallout. Helps shield paint from ocean air and vog. Bird droppings and water spots are easier to remove (still clean them off promptly).
  • Gloss and depth that last longer. Paint keeps its depth longer between washes.
  • Hydrophobics. Water and grime shed more easily, so washing takes much less scrubbing.
  • The two-car test. Picture two identical new cars, washed the same way. Coat one. Over time, the coated one tends to hold its gloss and depth better and stays easier to clean, as long as it's maintained.

How we install it

  1. Wash and decontamination (iron and tar)
  2. Clay treatment
  3. 1-step polish (gloss enhancement), included. If your paint needs more, we can do a 2- or 3-step correction instead
  4. Panel prep to remove polishing oils
  5. Coating installed panel by panel, then cured

The honest version

  • 4 years is our tier rating for Stout, not a guarantee. How long any coating lasts depends on washing, maintenance and conditions.
  • It's not scratch-proof, and bird droppings and water spots can still mark it. They're just easier to remove.
  • It still needs proper, gentle washes.

Add-on with STOUT

P&S Inspiration VUE glass coating

A glass coating add-on offered with Stout. A separate coating made for glass, not the same product as a paint coating. Rain beads up and flies off your windshield, especially at speed, so you may need your wipers less. It still needs regular cleaning.

Top-of-the-line gloss, depth and hydrophobics, rated 9+ years

SystemX Phantom

Our top-of-the-line coating. Phantom is SystemX's two-part (2K) ceramic, and the look is the whole point: insane gloss, crazy depth of color and ridiculous water behavior. We handle all the prep and the installation.

What it does

  • Insane gloss. SystemX says its coating leaves paint looking “as if your car was dipped in glass,” glossier than the original clear coat. In person, it's the first thing you notice.
  • Crazy depth of color. SystemX describes a “color-enhancing gloss.” Darker paints especially look deeper and richer.
  • Ridiculous hydrophobics. SystemX calls the surface “ultra-hydrophobic” and “ultra-slick.” Water beads up tight and flies off, and grime has a harder time hanging on.
  • A tougher, slicker shell. SystemX says Phantom's 2K formula creates “a dramatically stronger cross-linked matrix for superior durability, chemical resistance, gloss retention, and long-lasting protection.” SystemX rates Phantom at 9H pencil hardness. That's a lab test, not a scratch-proof promise.
  • Way easier washes. SystemX describes it as a “self-cleaning” layer. In real life, that means dirt lets go with much less scrubbing. It still needs regular, gentle washes.
  • Protection against sun and salt air. An added sacrificial layer that helps against UV, oxidation, ocean air and vog.
  • Rated 9+ years. Our tier rating for Phantom, not a guarantee. How long any coating lasts depends on washing, maintenance and conditions.

Honest note: Not invincible: it can still scratch, and bird droppings and water spots can still mark it. They're just much easier to remove.

Gloss

Paint correction

Machine polishing that levels the clear coat to reduce swirls, wash marring and light scratches. A coating locks in whatever's underneath, so correction is what restores clarity and gloss before protection goes on.

1

1-Step: gloss enhancement

One pass with a dual-action (DA) polisher, using a fine polish on a fine polishing pad. It takes out light swirls and very minor paint defects. Honestly, it's more about gloss than correction. It's included with both of our coating packages (Stout and Phantom).

2-Step: cut, then polish

First we cut with compound on a cutting pad to work on deeper swirls and marring. Then we follow with the 1-step polish to bring the gloss back up.

3-Step: cut, polish and jewel

Everything in the 2-step, plus a final jeweling step. That last, finest pass brings out the most clarity and gloss.

The honest version

  • Polishing removes a little clear coat, and clear coat doesn't grow back, so we only take off what's needed.
  • Deeper scratches may not fully come out. A common rule of thumb: if your fingernail catches, it may be through the clear coat.
  • We don't promise a percentage of correction. We'll look at your paint and tell you honestly what's realistic before we start.
